Vita Andreas Gebhard

Andreas Gebhard studied chemistry at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and the University of Edinburgh and graduated with a diploma in 2004. Subsequently, he was a research assistant at the Department of Physical Chemistry of the Department of Chemistry at TU Kaiserslautern. From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Gebhard was a research associate at the Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe GmbH with the main focus on sliding wear, water-lubricated tribo contacts, tribo electric corrosion and test method development.

In 2008, he joined Tribologic GmbH as the company head of R & D, where he was responsible for the development of tribologically modified composite materials as well as for the establishment and operation of the company's own friction and wear laboratory. In 2010, Mr. Gebhard also became the managing director of Tribologic GmbH.

Since July 2017, Mr. Gebhard has been responsible for the competence field "Tribology" of the Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe GmbH. His main areas of activity are the tribology of plastics, in particular the plastic / plastic sliding pairings, the development and testing of high performance thermoplastic materials based on thermoplastics, as well as the development of highly digitized and integrated working methods in the tribological laboratory and the necessary computer programs and testing machines.
