Congratulations to Florian Mischo on successfully defending his doctoral thesis!

His dissertation with the title “Development of a test methodology for the determination of short-term dynamic material characteristics of continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastics” was accepted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Process Engineering at the Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) and by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Joachim Hausmann from theLeibniz-Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe GmbH supervised.

In his work, a short-term dynamic testing methodology was developed on a CF/PC reference material, which creates the basis for uniform and reproducible material characterization in tensile tests. For this purpose, a new test specimen geometry was optimized, which makes it possible to carry out tensile tests up to a strain rate of 100 s-1.

Since February 2024, Florian Mischo has been working as a development engineer for fiber-plastic composites at Geislinger GmbH in Salzburg, Austria.

We wish him all the best for the future!

Florian Mischo
