Due to the current contact restrictions, the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering starts the semester with online courses. The contents will be activated from 20 April 2020 and, depending on the lecture, online presence events will also take place. In the respective Olat course you will find information about the course of the lectures. Registration for the Olat courses is possible as soon as you have received the course code.

In 2019 the institute was integrated into the curriculum of the University of Kaiserslautern by professors Dr.-Ing. Ulf Breuer, Dr.-Ing. Joachim Hausmann, Dr.-Ing. Peter Mitschang as well as lecturers Dr. Miro Duhovic, Dr. rer. nat. Martin Gurka, Dr.-Ing. David May, Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Schmeer and Dr.-Ing. Bernd Wetzel, complemented by lecturers from industry and university.
In close collaboration with the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering the institute offered 35 hours of lectures and laboratories a week in the summer and winter semesters.
Students of the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern gained insight into a modern research institute and current, promising research subjects by carrying out student research projects and degree theses.
22 student research projects and diploma theses, 28 bachelor and master theses, 12 project theses, and 6 doctorates were completed in 2019. Colloquia, technology transfer, and internships supllemented IVW's offer in teaching and research.
In addition, the institute’s employees also contributed to non-university lectures and training, e.g. the biannual fundamental seminar “thermoplastic reinforced composites”, organized by CUeV.
