Werkstoffferien 2024 at Leibniz IVW: A Week of Discovery and Scientific Curiosity!

A week of materials science that had it all! Our student interns Maria Butkovic and Anton Rudzevich dove into the world of fiber-reinforced composites – packed with action: simulations, hand lay-up, pressing, and even crash tests! Plus, exciting insights into polymer chemistry, sustainability, and microscopy. Experiencing research up close and getting hands-on – that’s what a STEM adventure looks like!

From creating their own workpieces to engaging in thrilling lab experiments, there was so much for them to discover and explore. A big thank you to the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for funding and the VDI Technologiezentrum for organizing the program.
