As part of the BMBF program "WIR! - Change through Innovation in the Region" and the regional project "Waste2Value - Microorganisms Change the Western Palatinate", the IVW was successful with a new idea.

Together with its partner CLTECH GmbH & Co. KG, an innovative approach for the production of structural wood-based materials from wood waste (wood chips, forest residues, wood dust/flour, etc.) is being pursued using a sustainable technology. The aim is to develop a new chemical or biotechnological process for treating the biopolymer matrix of wood waste, which preserves the shape of the wood as a fiber composite material. The project is funded by the BMBF.
