Visiting Polymer Competence Center Leoben (PCCL), Austria

Tailored Thermosets & Biomaterials11News25

On 13 and 14 March, three of our scientists from Materials Science program area were invited to a scientific exchange at Polymer Competence Center Leoben (PCCL) in Austria. The focus was on deepening the cooperation on current basic and application-oriented issues in the field of vitrimers. IVW’s latest research results were lively discussed with scientists and PhD students of PCCL in an interdisciplinary way, from a physical and chemical point of view, in order to find answers to the material behavior of vitrimers with their special temperature-dependent and both thermosetting and thermoplastic behavior. Results obtained at IVW with the novel method of the Temperature-Modulated Optical Refractometry (TMOR) provided exciting insights in this regard. A guided tour of the specialist departments at PCCL and Leoben University provided interesting insights into current research and development activities. IVW thanks for the great hospitality, the exciting discussions and looks forward to further cooperation with PCCL.
