Visit from Dr. Niklas Lorenz of TU Delft: Presentation on Innovative Vitrimer Matrix Composites

On October 29th, Dr. Niklas Lorenz from TU Delft (Faculty for Aerospace Engineering) visited the Leibniz-Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe (IVW) and delivered an engaging presentation on innovative vitrimers with fiber-reinforced composite matrices. His focus was on how, by precisely adjusting rheological properties, these new materials can initially be processed like conventional thermoset systems.

The special feature of these vitrimer composites: they are not only robust and versatile in processing, but can also be repaired and reshaped afterward. This opens up promising new applications and perspectives for the sustainable use of composite materials.
