The 2020 Stanford-Ranking List (https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/btchxktzyw/2 ; see Table 6) (based on citations between 1996 to 2019) ranked Professor Klaus Friedrich of Leibniz- Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe (IVW) at Technical University of Kaiserslautern in an international comparison of leading scientists in materials on position 85. This ranking is mainly a result of highly cited publications. Friedrich has more than 28,540 citations based on 574 of his list of publications.
