New Publication on Upcycling Disposable Waste Wood

News25

Our competence field Tailored Thermosets & Biomaterials has published a new article in the American Chemical Society (ACS) journal. The publication is titled "Controlled Interlayer Binding and Healing Improve the Transverse Properties of Upcycled Disposable Waste Wood" and is authored by Dr. Emmanuel Akpan, Mohamadreza Nasirzade Tabrizi, Claudius Pirro, and Dr.-Ing. Bernd Wetzel.

This research highlights our innovative approach to upcycling disposable waste wood into high-performance composites. By utilizing controlled interlayer binding and healing, we have demonstrated significant improvements in transverse properties. Additionally, the study includes the use of state-of-the-art Icon-AFM at IVW to gain a deeper understanding of the deformation gradient at the interface.
