Together with the partners Airbus Operations GmbH, Technische Universität Carolo-Wilhelmina zu Braunschweig, Henkel AG & KGaA, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Faserinstitut Bremen and Airbus Aerostructures GmbH, IVW is developing damage-tolerant slat structures made of metal and carbon fiber reinforced polymers. The project was launched on Aug. 1, 2023, and will run until Oct. 31, 2026, continuing the IVW's extensive research and development work in the field of hybrid composites and making a significant contribution to even more eco-efficient flying. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection on the basis of a resolution of the German Bundestag within the framework of the aeronautics research program (funding reference 20M2265E).
