First Highlights: Expanding Collaboration and Energy Transition Research in Melbourne

News25

Our recent visit to Melbourne provided exciting opportunities to deepen our engagement with key facilities and expand our vision for collaborative projects beyond the ConnectH2Australia initiative. A highlight of the trip was a tour of the Siemens Energy Transition Hub, a cutting-edge center dedicated to advancing research and education on power grids and energy systems. Here, our team exchanged insights on the latest developments in energy transition and explored areas for potential cooperation to drive impactful change.

Additionally, our team visited several specialized testing labs, where discussions focused on new ideas and directions for future projects. These interactions have laid the foundation for broader collaboration between the Leibniz-Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe (IVW) and Swinburne University of Technology, underscoring our shared commitment to innovation and sustainable solutions.

The trip also offered a chance to experience the vibrant Australian culture firsthand. Hosted by Adriano Di Pietro, Madeleine van Dongen, and George Miris, our team saw the Melbourne Cup, an iconic national event, creating lasting connections and celebrating together outside the lab.

Stay tuned for more updates on our growing collaborations in Melbourne!
