Our core area
In total 225 projects were processed in 2012 of which 168 were bilateral research projects with industrial partners. 57 projects were funded by public funding agencies like Ministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft, Weiterbildung und Kultur des Landes Rheinland-Pfalz (MBWWK), Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF), Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie (BMWi), Arbeitsgemeinschaft industrieller Forschungsvereinigungen “Otto von Guericke” e.V. (AiF), Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), Europäische Union (EU), Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), Stiftung Rheinland-Pfalz für Innovation etc. Nearly 75% of the acquired public funds come from EU, MBWWK, BMBF and AiF/ZIM. In 2012, the EU and MBWWK projects accounted for the largest proportion of IVW’s public funding portfolio followed by projects funded by BMBF and AiF in the framework of the Zentrales Innovationsprogramm Mittelstand (ZIM).
The strongest demand for bilateral research projects came from the automotive and machine building industry, followed by applications for the aerospace sector.
